Dr. Victor C.P. Woo first established his private ophthalmic practice in Prince Edward, Kowloon in 1974.

Dr. Patrick P.C. Tong joined as a partner in 1980 and their clinic was known as Drs. Woo, Tong & Partners. They had clinics at Prince Edward and Wan Chai.

Dr. William K.Y. Leung had started his own private ophthalmic practice in Prince Edward and Central in 1982 as well.

In 1993, these three doctors came up with a vision - they would merge and recruit more ophthalmologists to set up a technologically advanced and comprehensive private eye care centre providing quality service in Hong Kong. It was then called Drs. Woo, Tong, Leung & Partners. The Wan Chai Clinic was relocated to Central Building in Central, Soon, Drs. S.H. Cheung, C.Y. Shiu , Donald C.F. Woo , Jean Paul Yih, Charmaine Hon, Jonathan M.K. Tsang, Carol Yu , Nancy S.Y. Yuen and Douglas K.T.Lam joined.

These Fellows of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine renamed the clinic as the Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates in 1997.

In 2005 the Hong Kong clinic moved to New World Tower with a floor area of 5000sq ft. and next year the Kowloon clinic moved to a more spacious clinic of 6000sq ft. at Hang Seng Mongkok Building.

In order to provide high quality service and well-equipped facilities, HKOA Kowloon clinic has relocated to 10/F, 700 Nathan Road with over 10,000sq ft.
Dr. Alex L.K. Ng has joined The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates, our Centre has a professional medical team consists of 13 ophthalmologists with different expertise and experience.

HKOA Hong Kong clinic has relocated to 26/F, New World Tower 1 with over 10,000sq ft.
Dr. Andrew C. Fok and Dr. Winnie W.Y. Lau have joined The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates, our Centre has a professional medical team consists of 15 ophthalmologists with different expertise and experience.

The Department of Health would like to further protect patient safety and rights by introducing a new regulatory regime for private healthcare facilities since 2021. Our center is the first batch to obtain the Day Procedure Centre Licence issued by The Department of Health.

Dr. Leslie K.L Cheng has joined The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates, our Centre has a professional medical team consists of 15 ophthalmologists with different expertise and experience.

Dr. Isabel S.W. Lai and Dr. Callie K.L. Ko have joined The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates, our Centre has a professional medical team consists of 17 ophthalmologists with different expertise and experience.

The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates has been established since 1974, marking 50 years of dedicated service to the community with professionalism and experience.
