The Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates was formed in 1997. It has a fine heritage.
- 1974
Dr. Victor C.P. Woo first established his private ophthalmic practice in Prince Edward, Kowloon in 1974.
- 1980
Dr. Patrick P.C. Tong joined as a partner in 1980 and their clinic was known as Drs. Woo, Tong & Partners. They had clinics at Prince Edward and Wan Chai.
- 1982
Dr. William K.Y. Leung had started his own private ophthalmic practice in Prince Edward and Central in 1982 as well.
- 1993
In 1993, these three doctors came up with a vision - they would merge and recruit more ophthalmologists to set up a technologically advanced and comprehensive private eye care centre providing quality service in Hong Kong. It was then called Drs. Woo, Tong, Leung & Partners. The Wan Chai Clinic was relocated to Central Building in Central, Soon, Drs. S.H. Cheung, C.Y. Shiu , Donald C.F. Woo , Jean Paul Yih, Charmaine Hon, Jonathan M.K. Tsang, Carol Yu , Nancy S.Y. Yuen and Douglas K.T.Lam joined.
- 1997
These Fellows of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine renamed the clinic as the Hong Kong Ophthalmic Associates in 1997.
- 2005
In 2005 the Hong Kong clinic moved to New World Tower with a floor area of 5000sq ft. and next year the Kowloon clinic moved to a more spacious clinic of 6000sq ft. at Hang Seng Mongkok Building.
